Lung-ta the Tibetan word for
prayer flag means "wind-horse". Both the wind and horse are
natural vehicles of movement, the horse represents and carries
material forms and the wind ethereal forms Dragon, garuda, tiger
and lion are the four supernatural animals that surround the
wind-horse. They represent the four directions and help send the
prayers to all walks of life. The Tibetans have planted the
flags for centuries in the belief that the wind-horse will carry
the prayers throughout heaven and earth.

This is a mini
version of the all-powerful mantra, it is the most common mantra
in Tibet, recited by Buddhists, painted or carved on rocks, and
prayer wheels. It is easy and it contains the whole essence of
the entire teaching. Tibetans, almost all Buddhist believe that
it is very good to practice the mantra of Chenrezig. Each of the
6 syllables is on different color cloths with the green having 2
together, and is repeated twice, for a set of 10. Each flag is
